Never Trust A Teen

My oldest son came home asking if he can shovel the driveway for money. This reeks of desperation. I feel it's my parental duty to investigate further to figure out exactly what he's up to: Does he owe the mob? Is he buying drugs? Is it a cry for help? I feel I should put a stop to this nonsense right away, but maybe not until the driveway's totally cleared and THEN see what's what.

Even more disturbing: He's finished his shoveling and not only does NOT require payment right now, but doesn't even CARE how much I do eventually pay him. Curiouser and curiouser.......
