I've been remiss in my blogging, but I'm fairly certain with the annual arrival of family for the holidays a la Beverly Hillbillies style, there should be plenty of topics to cover. Here's the most recent gem floating around as my dad & kids watch That 70s Show. (By the way, if anyone knows where I can get a "Where Are They Now?" updated 2011 version to keep my dad occupied, please let me know ASAP.)
Dad: Trisha - what happened to the oldest guy on here?
Me: I don't watch that show.
Dad: You know....the oldest guy w/the beard?
Me: I wouldn't know who that it. I don't watch the show.
Dad: He plays Topher Grace's friend.
Me: OK.
Dad: I've seen that other girl, that Laura Prepon, in a movie. As a matter of fact, she was in that movie with Marky Mark where they stole his dinner reservations.
Me: Ok.
Dad: Do you remember that movie? Where they took his reservations and he said, 'What kind of person does that?' Alice, what was that movie where he stole his reservations?
Mom: I don't know. Dinner for the Schmucks?
Dad: No, it wasn't Dinner for the Schmucks.
(Author's aside - The movie in question was actually Dinner FOR Schmucks. There is no Dinner for THE Schmucks, unless you count the one I'll be having tonight with them.)
