American Airlines To The Rescue!

I appreciate all of the support from my friends, family, followers, etc. as I've tried to fix my mom's problem. I've had the privilege of MASSIVE support from all of you and it's helped keep me going with researching, writing, blogging, and now even tweeting, something I've declined to do until now for the simple reality of what the HELL can I possibly convey in only - what - 65 characters? Who can make a point with so few words? Talk about the Queen's biggest fear! But I'm very happy that my paraphrased point must still have been successfully received, at least with American Airlines.

To date, all of my contact has been w/Expedia via email, and it's been very slow going. They ask for information, I provide it, another day or so goes by and they reply asking for different information, etc. Very tedious and very frustrating (especially since our last conversation was 2 days ago and nothing since). On Monday, I actually made my first twitter post about it, naming both Expedia & AA. AA responded instantly and we started with a few back and forth tweets that weren't very productive. Then they asked me to DM w/them and AMAZINGLY they were able to catch up with a few tweets and possibly reading my blog (I suggested they do so after our first few tweets were just silly). After that, they quickly reviewed the case and replied last night that they were sorry about how it worked out and have credited my mom's account so that she can now freely use her $600 credit w/them with ZERO change fees to occur when she does. She no longer has to worry about an extra $400 to use her credit with them.

I'm so excited that it worked out in her favor. She's an amazing person and deserves it. I really appreciate all the suggestions I've received during this process as well as the COUNTLESS messages of support and encouragement. American Airlines ABSOLUTELY came through and resolved the whole thing in just a couple days (and even in less than 10 tweets!). I will absolutely recommend them in the future and hope everyone else does the same.

Always remember to keep fighting for what you believe is right or when you believe you've been wronged. Hang in there and make your voice heard! Oh, and always, always read the fine print.*

*this fine print is actually just nonsense, but I wanted to see if you were paying attention and are starting to read fine print wherever you see it. Good job if you did!!!
