Waste Not, Want Not

As an added note to my previous posts about Cat Litter Christmas Tree, it appears that the desire to continuously use pet waste products to aid my husband's DIY-challenged mentality is still as strong as ever. He came home yesterday with plants and pots, but forgot to buy the little dishes that go under the pots to collect the water (and believe me, after several warped pieces of wood furniture later due to his inability to STOP overwatering his plants, we need them!), he concocted his own temporary (I hope only temporary) solution. Here's one of the plants he put in my office window, and no, your eyes are not incorrect: That would be a cut up piece of a puppy pee-pee pad intended to soak up the excess water under my plant. 

Back off, ladies - he's still all mine.
